ITInc policy regarding content and presentation. Slowly ITInc is getting noticed. As we are moving forward and having meetings and discussions with various people, I am promoting not only ITInc as per se but also our talent; that is you guys.
It is important that ITInc and its people are seen as a serious talent not merely as a bunch of young hackers. So, image matters and it must convey what ITInc is about; an organization that is filled with talented people who are capable of delivering wonderful, novel yet seriously industrious products and services; both in software engineering and hard core engineering. Whatever is put on your page, make sure it is not:
Be careful with humour; depending on persons' cultural background and personal sense of humour, often what you think is funny others will find it dull, stupid or outright vulgar and offensive; so tread carefully in this area of expression.
Selfies are absolutely NO NO! Also no family pics or pets.
Hobbies and interests are OK but again, be careful. If not sure, better to keep it out of the ITInc domain.
Do not embed personal FB or other personal links within your ITInc pages unless such links point to content that is in line with ITInc image and ethos: 3i, technological discoveries, science and engineering. On the other hand it's OK to embed ITInc link into your FB or other personal pages, subject to the above restrictions.
Never use copyrighted material unless you have acquired permission or a license. This is very important since we are presenting ourselves as original people with original ideas, as well as being protective of originality and protective of the intellectual properties of those who reach out to ITInc. If you need to use images, there are plenty of free, not licensed images on the web. If you need something you can't find, just ask any of us.
Eventually we will have a development resource page that will contain links to external content as well as our own libraries; code, images and other audio visual material.
We do not vet people based on their political or social views, we do not vet people based on their past, even if the past is full of errors, stumbles or even falls; for we believe that even talented people err, stumble and fall, yet their talent should not be squandered just because of their past.
We do not prohibit people from expressing their political or social views.
We do not restrain people from participating in whatever political, social or professional activism; for we believe in personal freedom. HOWEVER! All these are not to be within the context of Innovation Tap Inc.
Innovation Tap Inc does not endorse or dis-endorse any kind or type of political view or social activism. If anybody is involved in such activities that's fine, but make sure that ITInc is not associated with personal activities or views or activism.
Under no circumstances we will support any social, political or activist group. We will not participate in debates, support or take part in demonstrations or floats, nor will we boycott groups, individuals or states, unless such individuals are deliberately set out to discredit or harm ITInc or any of its employees or volunteers; we will always stand by our people for as long as they are not convicted of criminal or dishonest conduct. In short, by default we keep distance from anything that is not related to engineering, science, innovation, inventions, and rational ideas.
We encourage you to promote ITInc as a 3i non-profit organization; nothing more.
To summarise; whatever you do in connection with ITInc make sure it is presented as a pure engineering, scientific, and idealistic organisation. Whilst we encourage you to express yourselves, let your pages express technologies and technological, engineering, scientific ideals.
You can be as sophisticated or as abstract or as simple as you like. Keep in mind that overly sophisticated or exuberant content may be a turn off for those whom we are aiming to reach. Of course you can also put up your ideas too. If they work, you'll be able to showcase them on the main ITInc site which we hope will be frequented by businesses, investors, venture capitalists or by crowds who may be interested in funding your projects or ideas.
Also keep this in mind: ITInc can be your valuable professional reference for your career progress. ITInc space can be your only redeeming space to counter the young and swift mind's foolishness that is recorded permanently in social media space. ITInc will be your space where you can point others to without embarrassment: D.
